Used this in a 2012 F150 Rear drivers side door. Easy to replace the existing one, just make sure to pay attention to where the rods connect to prevent confusion. This works for multiple vehicles and you may need to make sure of the rod placement for the entire lock in the door.

Replacement wasn't that difficult (see YouTube for instructional videos) , but for rear doors you will need to unbolt the window regulator for clearance to remove/install this somewhat bulky lock actuator. Go slow when removing the inner moisture membrane so that you can re-use the existing mastic holding it to the door frame, and BEFORE you re-install the inner door panel verify that the lock works as intended. I took a chance on the used(very good condition) item, and it was only $22 shipped. Wife's happy that it's back in operation, and compared to the roughly $300 I would have spent at the mechanic, can use the savings to buy more multitools/knives/tools - win all around!

Great product. A little difficult to install but that's not the products fault.

I installed this on my 2018 explorer after the door locks quit functioning. The door locks now work, but I had the phantom "door ajar" warning on both rear doors after installation. After searching the interwebs, I found this to be a common enough issue. I loosened the mount screws in the door jamb and snugged them up one at a time until I found the offending screw that when torqued, put the door latch switch in a bind. Apparently torquing a certain screw down will tweak the door switch (built into the latch assembly) so that the switch will hang up and the vehicle thinks the door is open when it is not.Blue loctite on the offending screw, just loose enough to maintain the door switch function. YouTube it.

This was more expensive than several of the other listings. But I went with Dorman because it's a known company. Fit was perfect and installation was very smooth. Be sure and and remove 2 lower bolts and loosen the top bolt of the window operator so you can slide the old actuator out and put the new one in.

While this purchase appeared to represent good value, Amazon's "does it fit" app indicated it was a match for my truck, and it did fix my door lock / unlock issue, the part caused a new issue - a constant door ajar fault on my 2014 Ford F150 Lariat. After troubleshooting the wiring harness all the way back to the Door Lock Actuator, I went to Ford and purchased a replacement for this Dorman 937-677 Door Lock Actuator. Not sure if it's a poor quality part or an incompatible part, but I AM sure I cannot return it for a refund. Saving $40 vs OEM turned into costing $80+ the time to do the job again. Buyer Beware.

This part was amazing and easy install, the price was way better compared to advanced auto for the same part number. I did see were I had the door ajar message when installing it and I found out after reading the comments it’s a common issue, the thing you have to do is when installing IF you get the door ajar message, loosen the bolts as I realized I over tightened them and that caused the door ajar message after I loss-end them the message went away. Easy fix. Still great product and good priced for a name brand part.

The latch holds the door closed and the electronic lock works fine, but the door ajar switch failed after a couple months. I bet when I tear this one apart I'll find the same brand switch in it as the last one that failed. They should have spent an extra dollar on a better microswitch if they're going to charge double the cost of a cheap door latch. I'm getting sick of changing this door latch. You get 2 stars only because it has a good build quality and fitment and would otherwise be a great replacement part. Build your parts to be serviced. People like me would change the switch and leave a 5 star review based on how easy it was to fix the switch instead of change the whole door latch.
