Make sure to have submerged before applying power. I put this in a cup of water to test and it got very hot within a couple of minutes. This is going to be used to heat oil in a small engine.

I wanted to use it to πΈπ¦ππ₯ plastic parts together. I covered the corded end with shrink tubing. I covered that with a loose, corkscrewed 12 gauge copper wire, and covered the copper with another thick shrink tube. The first shrink tube caught π§πͺπ³π¦ within 15 seconds maybe. Then the copper melted, then the second shrink tube caught fire.I havenβt tried (rubbery) silicone yet.

i bought this to put in a compact fridge which I converted to a warmer to warm honey that had crystalized. I had bought a different brand that failed after 20 hours. I returned it for a replacement. The replacement failed also. That's when I bought this dernrod. 40 hours and so far it's still working.Update. After about 100 hours it failed. Not sure where to get an element that will last. It's not an easy install so failure costs a lot of time. Very disappointed.
