This is one great idea that really solves a big problem for me. I used one of these shackles today to load logs onto a trailer with a 13,500 lb winch with synthetic rope. It is so nice to be able to quickly remove and replace a winch rope from the shackle. I did have the synthetic winch rope slip between the two halves of the shackle one time when I winched the rope at a hard angle to the shackle. So it's best to keep the winch line straight through the shackle. Other than that, these are super strong and look great, with set screws to lock the nuts on the shaft.

These split D-Ring shackles are beefy-looking and are a good fit for the clevis mounts on my Chassis Unlimited rear bumper on my truck. I used 3 of the provided rubber washers per d-ring. This provided a good compromise of anti-rattle without locking down the D-Rings so tightly that they could not be rotated on the clevis pin. I used a dab of blue loctite on each of the hex headed locking screws on the nut at each end of both clevis pins. While I have not yet tested the d-rings under load, they appear solid and are rated at 40K lbs break strength. A magnet in each pair of split rings helps keep the two halves together and prevents chatter and rattle. Overall, I like the look of these on my truck, and I'll update this review should my truck need to be recovered or assist with the recovery of another vehicle.

I’ve been using this 2-pack of ¾" D-ring shackles with my 4Runner while helping folks who get themselves stuck in the sand at Padre Island National Seashore. These shackles are solid—literally and figuratively. The forged steel feels like it could tow a battleship, and the 7/8" safety pins thread in smoothly without needing to wrestle them. I’ve yanked out a few vehicles buried pretty deep, and these never gave me any reason to worry. No bending, no signs of stress, and no surprises. The coating has held up fine against the salt air and sand, though I give them a quick rinse after each trip just to be safe. They fit my recovery points snugly, and I like that they don’t rattle loose during the ride down the beach, which can be a problem with cheaper hardware. I haven’t hit the 40,000 lb break strength, thankfully, and don’t plan to, but it’s good to know these aren’t going to be the weak link in my recovery setup.Only thing I’d suggest is throwing some anti-seize or a light bit of grease on the threads if you’re planning to leave them mounted for long stretches. Salt and time can make anything stubborn. But overall, they’ve earned their spot in the back of my 4Runner.

These shackles are great, They are super easy to install (I did add some locktite to keep the set screws from vibrating out), you can see they came with everything you need to install them. The shackle, 4 rubber washers and an allen wrench in each washer pack. It takes about 2 minutes to install them and they look great. They are really heavy duty at 10T and work perfectly and easily to get a strap in them. I live on a hill and sometimes get my zero turn stuck and have to carry the 4 wheel drive Tundra down to get it out. This makes it so much easier. My son in law ordered two more pair to add to my Skid Steer to tie it down with. These get my highest recommendation

I couldn't test these to destruction, but they held up oddly well for what I ended up putting the set through.A couple of things that stood out was that the nuts were locked by a single grub screw each and each arm is labeled at 10T. That the grub screws tighten onto threads is also an interesting choice, so make sure that you are not removing these once you get em on as the damaged threads do hold those nuts rather well.On the labeling of each hook as 10T, this does seem how the 40k lbs total was reached. But 2 hooks at 10T each doesn't immediately double capacity. I cannot really trust that, but a single hook did take about 10T without breaking. Take that as you will. These shackles ended up on the recovery trailblazer and made rope and strap removal and swapping around extremely easy. Didn't have to rethread the shackle each time to move a strap or have a strap just looped across the front anymore. This was so much fun to just leave these on and just go. Overall ended up being faster, less stress and hugely easy to use out in the woods. The paint job stood out looked sharp, but the wee magnet that is supposed to hold the hooks together didn't quite prevent the hooks from clapping and chipping up a bit after some of the rougher spots. I'd recommend a paracord tie for the rougher outings and general hanging around. Otherwise, these are going to live on that vehicle as they worked extremely well and the 2 for one cost made this a great option.

So hard to review these things because the main thing you should be concerned with is the break strength. You really can't know what that is until is fails and even that its hard to tell if you were really hitting it with 40k lbs of weight.Feature, fit and finish wise: these shackles are nice, the split design makes putting on a rope or strap easy and you don't have to uninstall the shackle to do so like traditional hard shackles.I do have to mention that the packaging was nice, came in a plain cardboard box, but the foam inserts held the items firmly in place. I actually just threw the entire box in my recovery gear container and for sure there won't be any rattling come from these.
