Since deciding to make the switch from hardwired to solar exterior lighting, I have learned quite a bit about these low-priced solar light sets. Basically, all of the descriptions are the same but even so, the sets themselves do vary in quality. You can't always go by the price either. I have paid more for sets of lower quality. There are a few key things to look for other than the reviews themselves. There are about five quality brands sold here through amazon and this Alepod is one of them. This brand is also sold at other trusted retail sites where you find the same positive reviews. Look for the duel panel solar panels. It seems that the units with the two smaller panels as opposed to one large panel have a better energy conversion rate as far as you will get more than double the length of lighting time related to the charge time. This is perfect for areas that only get a few hours of sun during the day. I have also found that this style of stake using four ridges instead of three tend to be noticeable stronger. Finally looking at the overall lamp, I have found that the slimmer profile such as the one this one has as opposed to the "bucket" shaped globes are much sturdier and hold up to the colder temperatures better. Even though you can leave these out in the winter months I always bring them in for the few months of heavy snow. I don't know if that extends the life, but it just makes sense not to have electronics buried in the snow for months at a time. I am very happy with the change from hardwired to these solar lights. They are easier to install. Much cheaper to run and maintain and best of all I am constantly changing things up. Moving the lights and experimenting with different sizes and styles. This Alepod set has been one of the higher quality sets I have purchased through Amazon. This is the set I currently recommend.

Just place them where there’s plenty of sunlight and they charge automatically during the day. At night, they turn on by themselves and the 7 RGB lighting modes create a beautiful, magical atmosphere ✨.The lights are bright enough to illuminate my garden and walkway without being too harsh. I just have to share how much I love these solar lights! They’ve been a wonderful addition to my garden. Installation was a breeze—just push them into the ground, and they’re all set. We are on a constant quest for unique lighting in our backyard entertainment area. In this case we needed something simple but effective to light a path we had made from our gazebo to our deck. After looking at what seemed like an endless list of light, my wife decided on these decorative (pack of eight) lights. (I think the discount helped in her decision as well.) The lights arrived and we're very easy to assemble and the operating instructions were equally easy to understand. (Big Bonus) We placed them in the ground (Make sure to remove the film off the solar panal to charge them) and charged them for about 5 hours before the sun set. When we went outside I pushed the button(follow the instuctions) and picked the color that we wanted (there are multiple colors to choose from, and some are brighter than others.) It was that simple. The design that is projected on the ground is a nice added touch. They fit in so well that we're going to purchase more for the front so we will have a matching set. These are rated as waterproof and they will definitely get tested by our underground sprinklers.
