Bought the first one several years ago and was happy to see that they were still available, albeit they have gone up in price significantly since then...much like most everything else these days. It seems to be made just as well as the one I had before...I particularly like the handiness of having two brushing options in one brush...but the wire bristles seem to be much sharper and less forgiving...so just be very careful when using it so as not to hurt your furbabies while brushing them out or stabbing your cuticles when trying to retrieve their hair from around the wire bristles.

love this brush. Use it daily on our Dalmatian. Was getting really frustrated with the amount of hair lying around the floor from It leaves. Since using it there is visibly less hair on the floors and his coat soft and smooth.

It's a great brush and I only returned it because I really couldn't handle the army green colour. There should have been more options for colour for this size but there wasn't. It's great that it's double sided so you don't require two brushes. Combs and brushes really well. I recommend it and only give 4 stars instead of 5 because of the limited/no options for colour in the Medium Brush.

Used this on our three month old kitten, he loved it! This brush will grow with him. The bristles are soft yet firm enough to do the job, and the other side will be great for detangeling when he is older. Very pleased with my purchase.

this review will be posted to 3 combs: safari long tooth undercoat, safari wire pin brush and safari self cleaning slicker. i have nothing to say about the quality, it's just that they are not working for me.i bought them because it was highly recommended for huskies but it just didn't work at all, maybe when she'll be all grown up they will, but for now- i left those brushes aside and bought the SAFARI magic+ dual sided shedding and they work like a charm!!! i also use the safari flea comb for her legs, until she was 4-5 months i also used it for her whole body and it worked great (it was the only comb that really did something).

This is the only brush my Maine Coon cat will let us use. I use the wire side sparingly as he won't let me use it too much but he does like the soft side. He gets a lot of matts in his hair and we have to get a lion cut to start over again and hopefully this brush will help us get the tangles out. I have used a ton of others, even the furminator, and none work to keep him dematted so far. Vet said it's due to their fur being oily so I guess it's more baths for him! Which is okay since he likes baths but he's so messy and wet that I get soaked too haha. *I added some before and after of getting his hair cut/ one before is my daughter trying to hold him. After he looks so skinny!

Proud owner of two american pitties and two Old English Sheepdogs. Before purchasing this I had so many grooming supplies it seemed I had my own shop. The pin and bristle works great on both breeds and they all love it. The pins are easy to clean as they are set on a cushion and all you need to do is press down to gather the fur. The bristle takes a bit more work to clean, but a comb and a handheld dc59 do the trick. Using the brush for a few weeks, 20 min brushing on all four pets, with no loss of bristles or pins. My male OES even grabbed it off the shelf and gnawed on the handle for a bit until i caught him, Very light damage. It's made of a hard wood and the lacquer finish is quality.

This is a good brush and I start with the bristle brush and then gently get the tangles out using the pin side of the brush. My dog is a Lhasa Apso so the brush size is perfect. He loves being rubbed and brushed and he thinks this is quite the treat! So, I brush him in the evenings after work for a little extra bonding time. My cat (med length hair) also LOVES being brushed. I used to spend time brushing each of them independently but now when the cat sees me brushing the dog, she comes over and lays next to him so I end up doing a few strokes on one and then the other. Needless to say this is the ONLY time these 2 pets will lay side-by-side without any mischief. The brush size works for both and I like the pin side so I can get her shedding fur off her. Note that if you aren't sure about using this on a cat or your cat isn't used to being brushed you can start with a simple, plain little comb. That's what I did until she got used to being brushed.

So my master brought me this medium sized brush because, as a Cockapoo, I tend to have longer wavy hair that can easily get matted. I've been in that situation before where my previous owners didn't take as good care of me and boy did my hair look like a teenanger's at a 60's high school dance. So as the brush arrived, I was skeptical because 1. it smelled like a new product and 2. it was spikey. I sniffed it for a couple of minutes until I gave the green light to use this thing on me. The side with the larger bristles was used first because I think it helps gets my fur straightened first before it goes through the more fine bristled side.OH MAN did this thing feel good. As soon as the brushing began, I couldn't help but lie on my side and have a huge smile on my face as my master gently brushed me. I attached pictures as proof. The side with the larger bristles was much more gentle than I had imagined and removed the tangles from my fur with ease with no pain involved! The softer side feels like I'm being brushed by a gentle cloud of soft and cuddly bunnies. It works wonders on my fur and even though I didn't think it possible, yes, I do in fact look much more handsome. I stared at myself for a good 3 minutes in the mirror when I was done because I just couldn't believe it. My masters were saying something about how soft I am and what a good boy I was and then gave me some treats! Fools, they think I was just being a "good boy" when in fact they were the ones doing me a favor. But that's alright, all the better for me.For all the other dogs reading this review, lick and bug your masters to get this too. It's cheap compared to all the other stuff they buy, like useless chew toys that I don't even use. Oh and many thanks to the other reviewers who helped me pick this brush. Excellent all around!woof woof-Ringo the dog

I have a 15lb cockapoo and this brush is ideal. I mostly just use the wire brush side and it works great. My dog has a wooly, wavy coat and she doesn't shed at all, but this brush will work through any knots she has. Her coat has never looked so good. The plastic bristle brush I used before was just not right for her coat. This is perfect! I recommend this brush for any type dog - the wire brush is good for non-shedders to work out the mats and knots, and the other side is probably better if your dog sheds a lot! My dog actually likes being brushed now. :)
