I tend to prefer this screw on version as opposed to the rubber slide over because it is usually easier to take on and off. HOWEVER, is your bolt bends, it can damage the threads and make it almost impossible to remove.

Where has this product been. For years I've gone thru countless carbon arrows uncocking my crossbow after my hunts before storing my crossbow. The carbon express screws into the tip of the arrow and produces no visible damage to the arrow when you shoot it intothe ground. I can't say enough good things about this money-saving device.

The new crossbows will not let your uncock them without shooting them. When I get our of my stand I just put this in and shoot into the dirt. Works great! I keep it on an old arrow so it doesn't ruin a good one, but to be honest I can;t tell that it ever hurts the arrow. Good product.

I've used my Parker Enforcer crossbow for a couple years now and, while I love hunting and target shooting with it, de-cocking it in the field without a target on hand is a huge pain. Despite my efforts to aim and watch where the arrow strikes the ground, I've lost two arrows de-cocking the bow into the ground. The grass was short, one time I stood on top of a small structure to try to increase the angle and keep the arrow sticking as straight up as possible, but the power of the bow and softness of the ground must have combined to completely swallow both bolts. This thing is easy to install and use. It dug a decent hole and kept the bolt from penetrating very far into the ground. Glad I finally broke down and bought one.

This is a wonderful item. It is light and easy to carry. I can screw it onto any arrow. And I fire it into any nearby dirt pile to de-cock my crossbow. I replaced a dedicated 22" de-cocking bolt and good riddance. I got this not expecting much, but it works as well as I ever hoped it could.

Works as advertised. Used a bent arrow i had from last years deer.I had the ten point throw away plastic arrows, and burned threw them fast,,I had the carbon express release bolt, it broke after a year of abuse. This is the ticket, as once the arrow is blown or broken, you just use the next bent arrow you have in stock.

I guess this could work, but save your money, it worked ok in the backyard once or twice. Took it afield to discharge the crossbow, the ground must have been too soft, my crossbow completely buried this thing at like 30 yards under ground, never to be seen again. Just buy a handful of fender washers from the hardware store for a few cents and screw 2 of them under a field point, that has worked all year long for me now without incident. Total cost for a handful of fender washers from Ace Hardware, about $1.69.

The "Nub" works exactly as advertised. I have one mounted on an old bolt and carry it lashed on my hunting pack. When I want to "de-cock," I just shoot it into the ground. I pick an area with loose soil and no rocks, etc. I aim about 5 yards out from where I'm standing. The blunt head only penetrates the soil about 3 or 4 inches. Doesn't get stuck in the ground, doesn't damage the bolt/vanes, etc. Crossbow seems a bit quieter than normal when shooting this heavier tip. Simple, effective way to de-cock your crossbow.
