Bosch Throttle Body is a great value and should last for years . My Volvo was fine and then at a light I pressed the gas pedal down and it would bearly move . An old lady that must have been 80 started honking at me .anyway I managed to get the car up to maybe 5 MPH and limped home . the next morning the problem went away but came back a few days latter . so I took it to a shop they had it 2 weeks charged me 700 dollars and said it ran fine and they did'nt see a problem . I got in the car to drive home and the issue reapeared . I imediatly told them they said I was welcome to leave it with them for an additional charge.I was not happy . I drove home at 5 MPH . I bought a used car because I needed a set of wheels that worked . it left me stranded and I walked home blown head gasket , sold that car for scrap . Back to my volvo . I purchased a code reader and it indicated that the throtle body was bad .I installed the throtle body and my car was fixed .

My 2004 XC70 2.5 T5 196K miles suddenly got an OBD2 P2108 error, which is a Throttle Actuator Control Module. That relates back to this throttle body. Around the internet and reading reviews, I saw everyting from its processor has to be paired with the ECM with special software to it's plug/play. I bought this one just to see what would happen, if it wasn't the problem, throttle bodies don't last forever, and at least I would have a new one.Installing it, I first cleared the OBD2 code before disconnecting the battery. When it was in, I connected the battery and turned the key to "on" for a few minutes before starting the motor, just in case the ECM had to get used to something new. I started the motor, and it has run perfectly ever since.I cut the tamper proof fastners off the old body and cracked it open. All that's inside is a stepper motor, some gears, and a slip ring to read position. There is no processor or smarts inside there that would have any firmware that the ECM would care about.ABSOLUTELY plug/play. And the OEM Volvo part was Bosch, with the same Bosch part number on it. Get one. Handy hint: Raise the front of the car so you can remove the air skirt to access the bolts from the bottom. Much easier!I hope this helps someone else.

My 2006 Volvo XC90 kept having irritating issues such as shutting down when coming to a stop! Also throwing "reduced engine performance" codes. I had cleaned the old throttle body, and did other maintenance but this did not help. After installing this new throttle body, the problems have gone away and the car runs like new!! Quite idle and smooth throttle response now.

Installed this on my Volvo wagon and it's been over a month with no issues. I installed it with IPDs phenolic spacer to reduce heat from intake manifold which I suspect is how the previous one got destroyed.

Does come with software but you will likely need to bring it to a shop to run the adaptive. Volvo XC70 would not idle correctly until I did.

I had originally purchased an aftermarket part it looked the same and the manufacturer stated that it need's to be programmed but I took the risk and my vehicle ran terrible. I went to Amazon website and saw the part at a reasonable price and it was a Bosch, the original part for the Volvo's. I sent a request asking if this part need's to be programmed and I received some very quick and good response. I purchased the part and installed it in the vehicle yesterday, reset the check engine light and the car is now running as new again. I am happy that I purchased this part from Amazon and the price was much cheaper than the dealers. Excellent part and I will speak for Bosch. " Once it is a BOSCH it have to be good"
