First off, I needed some kind of shelf or rack to store over 200 CD's & DVD's combined. This unit would take around 120 of them from a footlocker of mine to a storage rack and got this one to do that job. When I opened the little box which this unit came in, it was all in pieces and knew it would take an hour or so to figure out how to assemble it. Instructions were OK and to me, it seemed like a 2-person job just to put start putting this thing together and then 1 person can finish it off. Cheapie chinese plastic for sure and I can most certainly assume it came from china as this thing seems too fragile to store CD's and/or DVD's for the long haul. ONE of the bolts supplied to put this thing together did not screw all the way into the side plastic thingie piece.....figures I'd knew china would make ONE faulty bolt. Their bolts are used with a L-shaped hex wrench instead of a standard screwdriver. SO, I removed that chinese bolt and used specialty industrial clear glue to keep it together.....so far it works great! It holds about 140 CD's in slim cases or about 120 CD's in regular CD cases. I cannot say how many DVD's in their cases this storage rack holds because I use mine strictly for CD's in slim or regular CD cases and my unit is holding 132 CD's of both slim and regular cases right now. It's not very sturdy and a bit tippy at times. They should have made this storage rack a few inches wider as it's rather narrow width-wise and too tall for the narrow bottom width of this item. The only saving grace with this unit is it's lightweight and easy to move around when empty compared to a CD bookshelf. 3 stars simply because it's not worth anymore than 3 stars. Too flimsy, too wobbly, narrow width and too tall for that narrow width of this storage unit and too cheap/won't last long. I will get two 3 or 4-foot wood planks about 5 or 6 inches deep and replace the sides on this unit with the wood, drill the appropriate holes needed for the bolts and just do it as that and put some 5 or 6 inches deep x 2 inch wide wood bottoms under each side for a more stable CD/DVD storage rack which will hold the same amount of CDs or DVDs with more sturdier wooden sides on them to last longer and look better too. 3 stars.

super super easy to setup as long as you dont get overwhelmed by all the pieces. be careful not to over tighten because some pieces are plastic.each shelf holds about 17 dvd/blueray/video games with the divider attached. If you dont put the sliding divider in you could easily fit 1 maybeee 2 more. I added a pic so y'all can see, don't judge the random collection they were all the movies and games I found around my parents place.only thing to note is sturdiness, listen it was cheap and it's mostly plastic, so don't have high hopes. it is wobbly, and kinda hard to move once filled. However once you find the place to put it it won't matter. there's also an art form to placing the items on the empty shelves as they must balance to stay

It's definately a cheap plastic and aluminum dvd holder, lol, but it actually works really well. It holds dvds the best when placed into it the way I showed in the pictures. When dvds are put in the other way they tend to slip off the bars and fall in the way I showed anyway so just put them in there like that to save yourself the frustration. It comes with wall mounts, I didn't want to use those so I don't know if they work well. You have to put it together yourself which is pretty simple once you understand the pattern. My Assembling Suggestion:don't put on the little divider / separator- "v" shaped things (that slide onto the aluminum bars) when putting this together unless you want to lose a whole dvd space to separate your dvds..... which it doesn't really do well. It's an extra piece thats kinda lame. I had to take a pair of pliers to break mine off so I didn't have to take the whole thing apart to remove them.

It's cheap plastic and I had my expectations low, and it pretty much met them, but it does the job well enough for the price and is decently easy to put together.A lot of people have dinged this for being hard to put together due to simplistic instructions. I don't personally think it's that complex, and I say that as someone who hates putting furniture together. I'm actually decently impressed with how simple and utilitarian they made it. But I also caveat that with the fact that I didn't use the thing that braces it against a wall, which is possibly why it's a bit wobbly, and I left the dividers off. If you want this to be free-standing, good luck. I'm not exactly afraid of it falling over, but I'm putting it by a wall all the same. You can use a screwdriver instead of the hex key they give you, but the hex key works just fine. I didn't need any extra hardware to finish this. I didn't use a hammer, tape, or glue of any kind. The biggest ding for me is that a lot of the pieces had score marks on them, as if they got rubbed raw in whatever machine they came off of, or as if this was put together at least once before I got it, which is strange, given everything was in unopened plastic bags, which isn't generally my experience for returned items.I also didn't use the dividers. The rack is actually pretty small as is, and the dividers would have taken up a lot more space. A shelf without dividers can fit ~19 regular size DVD/blu-ray boxes, which totals to around 95 of those for five shelves. I have fewer than that, since I have some special editions and TV seasons. It can fit CDs. It can't fit Nintendo switch cases, unless you put them on their side (but I ran out of space for my shows and movies anyway, so I didn't have space for the games). The items generally sit on the shelves well without falling out, but I do agree with other reviews that it's pretty easy to make stuff fall out of this while putting stuff on it: shelves don't have bottoms exactly, and the back part of the shelf has a very low wall, and very narrow bottom section. While rearranging stuff I had stuff constantly falling into the middle section. One review suggested angling the stuff on the shelves, which I think would damage them, considering the back side of the shelf. I don't believe that's necessary, but it was a cool idea. All in all, it's not terrible for the price. But if you're willing to spend the money, there should be sturdier but still lightweight and inexpensive options out there that don't require a wall brace.
