*Terrible Fitment* I bought this item and had it painted to match. Upon receiving the handle it seemed decent quality and looked good. That was until it was time to fit it.Horrible fitment, the bottom of the handle cant catch the gate and protrudes out. The top also is way thicker than the oem handle. Too bad I found this out after having it paint matched.I am out the cost on this. straight into the trash. Do not recommend.

It will fit properly if you use the existing OEM metal bracket which has FLUSH studs on the flat metal bar. The supplied bracket has RAISED HEADS on the studs which will cause a 1/4 inch gap between the plastic and sheet metal. Also, the keyhole is a tight fit, requiring channel lock pliers to fully seat the lock into the keyhole so the snap ring will seat into the slots on the lock. Otherwise it works OK.

Works great, only it doesn't have a place for the lock but our truck is 2000 and parts are hard to find.

Ordered this tailgate handle to replace a broken one due to the lack of lubrication. The handle looks sturdy and well made. I can't tell about how long this will last but works well.
