These earring backs are very useful in keeping heavy and/or large stud type earrings from drooping or falling downward on the ear lobe.I usually like this kind of earring backs, and I wear them often on the bottom piercing in my lower ear lobe. I have double piercings in my earlobes, and I have found that they do not work especially well on the top one. This particular set has the normal butterfly backing; however, it sticks out farther from the back of the lobe than I like. It is larger than any that I have previously used before. Also, nowhere in the description, could I find what metal they are made of.If you enjoy wearing heavy or dangle earrings, but do not like how they can become so unattractive and droop downward…..try this kind of back. They give good support and keep those earrings upright and attractive. They also prevent the ear lobe from stretching, from the weight of heavy earrings, and looking ugly. They also work well for small stud earrings especially if the lobes are thin and slightly stretched.I think they will work for both female and/or male ears.

These are even better than the large round earring backs as they don’t show at all if put on correctly. My piercings were done more than 60 years ago and they are stretched from wearing super heavy earrings in the last century! These gadgets help the earrings stay centered in the ear lobe and don’t hang down. They are the best invention for problem piercings I have ever seen!
