This block-off plate does what is designed and marketed to do- block the discharge opening of the mower deck.Does some grass still get past it? YesIs it really heavy-duty? NoIs the install and un-install quick and easy? Yes

This fit my Craftsman T240 lawn tractor. The instructions for assembly of the plug was not included so I docked them 1 star. The instructions on mounting the plug to the mower deck were included. It was not difficult to assemble and install. I had an OEM mulching plug that wore out that I used for reference. The OEM Kit did not include the hold down wire or holds for zip ties. Both are a plus. When mounting the hold down wire, the bolt on my deck was not long enough for the washer and wing nut. Had to leave the washer off. I choice not to remove the deck to install the plug. The hards part was fishing the zip ties through the holds. I will have to get replacement zip ties when I remove the plug. I have not mowed with it yet to see how it holds up and preforms. Will update after I use it a few times.

When I looked at some of the other reviews of this product I was a bit concerned. However, now that I have it I am nothing but happy. Note: I did have to enlarge the mounting screw opening on the top of the plug in order to accommodate the retention pole (which does not come with the OEM kit but is a game changer). USE MULCHING BLADES! Mulching blades are designed to retain the grass under the deck and dice it up. Regular blades are designed to lift the clippings and blow them out the side. If you use regular blades with ANY mulching plug, the blades will force grass out through every nook and cranny and the unejected clippings will bog down your mower.
