**Background:** This is a review of the Dunkive 54 mm dosing funnel and espresso puck screen.**Funnel Review:**The funnel is made of nice-quality machined aluminum, and the magnets are strong. The lower portion dips into the portafilter basket, leaving a thin ring around the outside that you need to deal with before tamping. I simply tape the portafilter to the table, and that does the trick. The funnel helps reduce the mess when loading the basket.**Screen Review:**It looks a little weird and restrictive with small holes on one side and hexagons on the other side, but it works well for me. I'm trying others, but this one of the few screens that I am consistent draws. It cleans easily and does not block up too much. This also really helps keep the group head clean.Overall, I believe this offers great value, providing a good screen filter and a nice funnel at this price point.

How does this work with the Breville Barista Pro? It says it's compatible but I can't see how it actually fits under the grinder.. I think this might be junk unless someone can clarify. Please advise or this is GOING TO BE RETURNED!

Bought this specifically for my Bambino. Though I had others they were largerr and this one fits perfectly. The funnel itself is sturdy while still being lightweight. Favorite part is the magnetic connection as it keeps from slipping. Definitely keeps the grounds in and then even if slightly overfilled, using the distributor it still didn't make a mess. The screen works well for even pull.Terrific price for such a quality funnel and screen and I love them!

The Good:- Dosing funnel is sturdy but light weight- Magnet on the funnel is strong- Puck screen is aesthetically pleasingThe Bad:- The dosing funnel wall goes into the portafilter which creates a ring around the grinds making it a little more difficult to prevent spillage during the tamping processNote(s):During the pulling process I would experience random “squirts” and I couldn’t figure out why it was happening. Since using this puck screen, it was decreased dramatically.

This is a nice set overall. I am using it with my Breville BES840XL ("Infuser") and a BCG800 "Smart Grinder", and happy with the overall quality and function of both the funnel and screen. The magnets on the dosing funnel make it easy to attach and detach from the portafilter. It helps keep my coffee area cleaner with less grounds spilling over the basket during grinding. Due to the design, the funnel sits inside the basket, so the inner diameter of the funnel is narrower than the inner diameter of the basket. Consequently, it's not possible to tamp with the dosing funnel in place. Not a big deal (just remove the funnel before tamping), but a slight disadvantage compared to funnels that wrap around the outer diameter of the portafilter and don't interfere with the basket area. The portafilter + funnel fits in the portafilter holder of the Smart Grinder, though is not a totally perfect fit and prevents use of the button you can normally push the portafilter against to start grinding. The puck screen seems to make little difference in my extractions, but I don't normally have issues with channeling. I used it with a naked portafilter a couple times, and it seemed to possibly improve the water distribution; but it's really hard to say. I know some people love these things...I'm not sold on their value yet. That said, this one has nice build quality and seems to be a good fit for 53 ID baskets, though seems like it could be a fraction of a millimeter wider for an even better fit. It seems to work best when there's a little space left in the basket (e.g. not totally packed to the top).All-in-all, this is a great set and the drawbacks I mentioned may not apply to everyone, so at $10, I'd have no concerns recommending this set for someone with a Breville (or other 54 mm machine).

I mainly ordered this for the screen puck, but I did test the dosing funnel as well. The dosing funnel fit and (magnetically) snapped into the portafilter with no problem. The screen puck may have been a tiny bit small, which I think allowed some espresso to "spray" out of the rim somehow while it was making, but overall, it worked. I can't say for sure that's what the minor spray was caused by or just if my portafilter is getting old (I don't know if they wear out over time, but I doubt it). I did deduct one star for this.

I'd be honest that this is my 3rd dosing ring for my 54mm portafilter. What makes this stand out versus the other two I already have is that this sports an inner ring which tucks snugly inside the portafilter, as it keeps the coffee grounds inside without falling off even after taking out this dosing ring for tamping. Had I seen this product before, I should have picked this one instead and not the other two I already have. The shower screen's matrixed design provides a better way of distributing the water more evenly than the other shower screens I have.If you're looking to get your first dosing ring for your 54mm portafilter, stop thinking and just get this now.

So both the screen and the funnel work well. The funnel is the type that extends into the basket a little bit so you may have a little gap in the coffee grounds when you pull it out but your distributor will take care of that. The screen in this set is awesome, I absolutely love it!! It’s the best of any of the other screens I’ve used.
