It pulls the weeds great.Mud/dirt tends to stick to it and it would be nice to have another lever to open it up without have to pull out weeds by hand.Overall I’m happy with it.

I enjoy this tool, was very exciting to receive.I’m happiest that I can stand while doing this and it isn’t back breaking or wrist aching to use! Some weeds are too small and this does not do well with them, but especially for larger weeds it really gets the job done.It really took some time to figure out the best way to use this and to put my foot on the right part (haha), but it can go quick once you get in the groove!I put the prongs nice and firmly around the thickest center base of the weed, stomp my tool in, twist, twist, twist, and then pull out and use the pedal release!Excellent for large sharp pricker weeds!!Works pretty well and definitely saves the body a lot of work. Wish it were tweaked a little to cinch the prongs once in the ground - so marked off a star because I think it could have improvements. Wish it could get smaller weeds too so I didn’t have to bend over/pull on them….but happy overall with this item.Would make an EXCELLENT gift for any outdoor, gardening, elderly, etc person in your life.

Truthfully, the weeds it works best on, I can easily pull out myself. After it rains, most, except the dandelions, come up easily by hand.

I practiced with this tool a few days, re-reading the directions each time. The first time I did not pull a single weed and I thought maybe my tool was faulty. The 2nd & 3rd days trying this I was able to pull about 25% of the weeds I attempted to pull. When the did come out, it was a nice smooth removal requiring very little strength- but at the cost of much surrounding soil coming out the ground as well. The claw is very thick. The pedal is what confused me the most....the pedal's purpose is to open the claw while my user instinct told me a pedal should actually be grasping. However the grasping takes place after inserting the tool into the ground...where you tilt the tool towards you...this tilting closes the claw allowing it to pull weeds out of the ground. The pedal seems to only be for the purpose of getting the tool deeper into the ground...or to release the weed. To release the weed using the pedal however, you kind of have to use arm resistance while stepping on the pedal mid-air.I really committed to mastering this but in the end it seemed so much more work and time than just thowing on some gloves, getting on my knees and pulling myself. For those who are unable to work on their knees, maybe some extra practice and extra time on their hands would make this tool useful? Just be prepared to have extra large holes in the ground as well.
