I bought this device because I wanted to have cordless Android Auto in my 2020 Subaru Crosstrek. I was hoping to avoid the hassle of dealing with cables every time I needed to connect my phone, making it a much more convenient option for my daily drives but unfortunately the hassle of having to restart the device and reconnect my phone is a much bigger hassle than having a cable connectedThe quality of the product itself feels solid. The materials used seem durable, and when it works, it functions well. However the device would sometimes fail to reconnect, and the only way to resolve this was by restarting it and going through the pairing process again. Another issues Is when I tried to connect a second device, it would glitch out completely and fail to connect to anything. I followed the provided instructions carefully by disconnecting the first device before attempting to connect the second one, but it didn’t help. it made it hard to be able to connect different phones to it without having to restart everything. The price seems fair when you compare it to other similar products on the market. While it's not the cheapest option, the cost seems justified for the quality you get. However, the connectivity issues make me question whether it's worth the price if it doesn’t consistently work as expected.I was excited to have wireless android in my car, but I've had to go back to using a cable until I find a better solution.I'm giving it 3 stars as I can not confirm the issue is the device or my car stereo. If I could confirm the issue is the wireless device I would give it 1 star.

Had to have this when I saw it. We've done a bit of traveling in the last year, mostly by plane, and end up renting a car once we arrive at our destination. Color me ill-informed, I wasn't aware that rental agencies have jumped on the greed bandwagon and charge you for using their navigation systems in their cars. It can be as much as $20 per day. That's a lot to get from the airport to the hotel. Instead, enter Android Auto. Connecting the car to my phone's navigation system isn't complicated, and it's free. I wanted to try a wireless connecting device so that I can easily transfer my entire setup to any Android Auto enabled car and get on the road. It took a minute to set it up initially but now it's best friends with my phone. It is a bit on the large side so you need to be careful not to damage the connector. One of my vehicles has the USB in the console between the seats and purses, backpacks and other things get piled on the center console getting into and out of the car. I've broken loose a connector on a USB stick as a result, so be careful with this. Android Auto, and therefore this device will work on most cars manufactured in 2017 and beyond that have a display screen. You also have to have an Android phone. I like this adapter!

I recently purchased an Apple CarPlay USB adapter, hoping to upgrade my Subaru’s entertainment system, but unfortunately, my car doesn’t have the necessary compatibility for it. While I couldn’t use the product as intended, I will say the adapter seemed well-made and came with clear instructions for setup. It’s disappointing that my vehicle doesn’t support the functionality, but this isn’t the fault of the adapter itself. If your car is compatible, I imagine this would be a great solution for adding Apple CarPlay features. For anyone considering this purchase, I’d strongly recommend double-checking your vehicle’s compatibility first to avoid the same issue I encountered.

Plugged this guy into my cheap Chinese double din device that was supposed to support Android Auto but never would connect with cord or wifi. With this usb dongle plugged in, now the phone connects just fine! Note, for some reason it was buggy the first couple connects, but now working like a champ!

This adapter is what you need if you have wired Android Auto or Carplay in your car, and would like the convenience of not having to use a wire to connect your phone. I am using it for Android Auto, and the setup was quick and easy, and it connects automatically after it is initially set up. The adapter is very compact and can be directly plugged into a USB port in your car, and the small size means there’s a good chance it won’t block an adjacent port. It comes with a USB-C adapter so you can use it with USB-A or USB-C ports. The only issue I have found, which is not fault of the adapter, is that the USB port in my car stays powered up even when the car is shut off. I don’t expect that this draws a lot of power, but in my case I will need to unplug it if the car will sit for a few days to avoid any chance of running down the battery. So, that’s something you might want to check for in your car as well.

This 2-in-1 CarPlay and Android Auto adapter is extremely compact, like a USB flash drive. I own an iPhone, and my wife has an Android, so it works perfectly for both of us. The multi-colored lights on my Honda CR-V face downwards, indicating green for CarPlay and blue for Android Auto. Switching between Android and iPhone is simple: disconnect the previous phone and connect the other one. It takes about 20-25 seconds to switch, but it works without issues.
