If you play with it for a bit and get it focused really it’s terrific very detailed and keeps the kids busy for a while a must have

Phenomenal images! Switching lenses is kind of annoying, but my 6y kid is the age of explorer, she figured out to do it on her own, which turns out to be a fun fact for her.

All of the film discs are accounted for and arrived scratch free. Operating the projector is simple enough, you just pull out the tray and load it up with the disc of your choice. It can be kind of hard to tell which side of the disc that should be inserted face down, but it’s kind of foolproof in the sense that you can’t really push the tray into the projector if the disc is facing the wrong way. The built in nightlight function helps folks like me who have poor night vision to navigate more easily.I’ve been using the projector in a 14ft x 14ft room that has a 8 ft high ceiling. The image output of each slide is really beautiful and vibrant (when properly focused) and fills out the entire ceiling and part of my walls. The lower you have your projector, the wider the area it will illuminate. I have my projector positioned in the center of my room, on top of a chest that is about 3 feet high. My personal favorite film discs are the wormhole (which is the one featured in my attached photo), the marine organism and the moon (which has incredible detail, it looks like the moon is actually in my room)I don’t really have any major complaints that warrants taking off a star for my rating. I guess if I were to nitpick or pick something to improve upon, I would add an additional faster speed setting. Even when set on the highest speed, it still rotates kind of slow. So don’t go in ordering this if you’re expecting a super duper fast rotation speed setting like you would find on a disco ball.Overall, I’m happy with my order.

This is not a cheap or generic projector. This is high quality resolution and picture, with exceptional coloring. I am so impressed with this little gadget. It has slides, it's not digital. You just swap the little slides out to change the picture. I tried it out in a large living room and it covered the entire ceiling, and was just stunning images, one after the other. The projector makes the slides "come to life" so that they have that ethereal feel to them. It has a timer so that it doesn't run too long. I don't know if that would eventually burn the light out but I don't want to chance it, because I plan to use this for a very long time. I am a huge lover of music festivals and this is going to make the perfect addition to my camp site! I have gone camping once this spring, so far, and I took this with me and even people just driving through the camping area stopped to compliment the beauty of the images. I have always used digital projectors, but this is honestly far superior to any of the other ones I have, and it's even easier to use than the digital ones.

We know the limitations of these types of projectors, and we also know that the quality of the slides is often severely lacking. We were pleasantly surprised with this star projector. It has fewer bells and whistles than other projectors we have owned, but since those bells and whistles often don’t work well, it is a positive when it comes to this particular machine. It was simple to set up and use. We have not tried all of the slide yet, but what we have tried have been of better than usual quality. In fact, a couple of them are absolutely stunning. The projector also produces a surprisingly beautiful 3-D effect in some of the nebula, making it appear that rivers of sparkling plasma are moving through the nebula. The projector seems to be of average build quality being made of plastic. We do struggle with the focus wheel, which is a bit stiff and difficult to use - a common complaint with many of these projectors. All in all, this is a nice example of this type of product.

This projector has some great qualities, and some questionable in the instructions. It has a "night light" which seems to automatically come on. The description doesn't describe it well, and I find it more of a detriment. There is no reason for it to automatically come on, but it does. It adds to the ambient light, decreasing the vibrancy of the projection. It works great on a white ceiling/wall in an environment without ambient light. The motion is not as smooth as I had hoped. Very jarred, likely due to the gear design, despite following directions to lock the display plate in.As for the projection plates, the instructions refer to them as disposable/replaceable parts as if they are intended to expire. This should not be intended when we have LED light sources. The film discs will hopefully last longer, but I am curious as to why the instructions refer to them as if they are to be replaced often. For the coverage, it states over 200 sq ft. Ideally, it seems that under 150 sq ft would be ideal. In a pitch black room, it was just right in 120 sq ft, but i could not see it in anything more. If the night light is on, definitely not.It does come with a very nice assortment of projection discs, one preloaded with an empty case. Each film disc has its own case, so as to prevent damage. It is a great value, and super easy to use. Handle the discs without touching the plate as it is likely, especially with the warnings of needing a replacement, that the film may be damaged from fingerprints.Overall, a good value. The slower rotation effect is smoother, and much less jarring.
