I'll be the first to admit that I have not purchased this type of buckle before. . . I've USED them, but didn't shop for them, so I can only judge what I see.They do slide smoothly, they do seem very strong. . .definitely not cheap pot metal or anything, and they help pull the table top together tightly, so I'm calling them good! I even used a small hammer and tapped the tabs lightly to make it as tight as possible, since I do not have strong fingers.There are two screw holes in each half, and you mount them with an 8 mm gap between them, so that when you rotate the keepers it creates pull to bring the pieces together. These can be handy for any joint of two flat pieces you want to reinforce or tighten. The price seems more than fair for the quality.
