Unfortunately I damaged the phone when disassembling this for installation, but I was able to charge and test it using a smart charger, and it did perform in line with the rated capacity. Installation would have been the easy part!

This worked well in my sons old iPhone X. His old battery stopped holding a charge. The battery also began to swell, popping the screen off. This actually made disassembling his phone simple for this repair. His phone came apart easily. The old battery was a breeze to pull out and disconnect. The new one went in easily. This might have been more difficult had the old battery not swelled and done half the work for him. Anyways the phone is up and running again and holds a charge well. Battery life seems good again. I’m not personally using it so I can’t attest to usage and battery duration. It does seem to last days without charging if he doesn’t use it much, so no complaints here.

This replacement battery worked great for me. It took longer to clean off the old sealing material than it did to replace the battery.I was a bit concerned that the battery level was at 22% charged when I first connected it, but the battery did fully charge up expected. Also, when I checked the battery capacity level after installation it showed at 100% and my old battery had been under 70%.This battery also comes with all of the tools to help you with the installation. The only tool that I added to simplify the initial screen removal was a razor blade. If you want to keep the phone water-tight you will also need to buy the gasket separately. You can find them on Amazon for a few dollars each. All in all, this brought new life to my old phone, it may be a little tricky to install if you are not used to working with very small components - my recommendation is to find a few installation videos and watch them a few times before you attempt to replace the battery on your own.Make sure that you read the instructions regarding poor performance of the battery, it may be due to the snap connector not being fully secured. The instructions also mention a pop-up message that may display on your screen, I did not experience that issue.

It's no secret that Apple designs its products to break. You'll be thrilled with your $1000 phone one day, and then less than two years later it's slowed down to a crawl and the battery doesn't last for more than a few hours. That's when Apple counts on you either buying another $1000 phone or taking it into one of their "geniuses" so they can squeeze another $100 out of you to change the battery and scold you for not buying into their extortionist AppleCare scheme.Eventually, your battery will go completely dead, and your phone won't even power up, even if it's plugged in.That's what happened to my trusty old iPhone X. One day it just went dead. A shame, because the phone is still perfectly usable as a backup or even as one I can give to my child. But once that built-in battery is dead, the phone is bricked.I used to tinker with electronics all the time so I'm comfortable taking apart and putting things together, but with modern electronics everything is shrunken down to microscope sizes. Still, if you find the right YouTube video and have pretty good fine motor skills and patience it's not impossible to change this battery on your own. The documentation included with this battery is also much better than most I've seen with products shipped direct from the factory. The process isn't simple, but it is straightforward if you follow it step by step. You unscrew the two tiny screws at the bottom of the phone, use the suction cup to carefully separate the screen from the base (making VERY sure not to break the delicate wires), unscrew one of the metal covers over the tiny battery plug, and very carefully unplug the old battery. That was the easy part. The most challenging part is removing Apple's old battery, which they use a super-powerful adhesive tape to practically cement it to the case; there's really no practical point to making this adhesive so strong except to make life different for do-it-yourselfers. I wish Apple would use something even half this strength in their garbage cables.By best advice is to just take it slow. The good news is that this vendor provides all the specialty tools you need, including a torx screwdriver, a philips head, and a tri-point (the tri-point they provided was too big for my iPhone X, so I ended up using my own)—again, Apple purposely uses different screws to try to dissuade you from doing anything yourself.I'm happy to say that I was able to do everything myself using the parts in this kit (with the exception of the tri-wing screws) in less. than 20 minutes, and that beautiful Apple logo followed by the sign-in screen showed up for the first time in years. This is definitely a high quality product, equal or better than what you'd get from Apple without having to deal with "geniuses".

It is important to understand this is not a genuine OEM part and using it will defeat some functionality and trigger alerts. Your iPhone will report it as an “unknown part” and will not display battery health info and initially will trigger alerts that this is not a genuine part made by Apple. That being said, the battery works and charges. It is not an easy repair though, and you very well may break your phone if you are not skilled in the disassembly and manipulation of very small electronic components. The battery comes with links to videos and has very clear instructions and warnings. The kit comes with all the tools required, as well as a new liquid intrusion gasket to replace the one you will destroy. Once replaced, your device will no longer be as waterproof. All in all not a bad battery, but you do have to be aware this is a relatively difficult repair and not for the novice.
