Turns out I didn’t actually need this for the bookbinding I was doing as I was making more like junkjounal type journals. I’m completely new to this though and I wasn’t exactly sure what I needed and what I didn’t need. From what I understand now though, bookbinding cloth is when you’re making a much more professional looking book. However, I’m still glad I ended up ordering this as once I learned the very basics of bookbinding I was ready to try something a little more advanced with actual book board and this bookbinding cloth. Although I have nothing to compare this cloth to, I really believe it’s good quality. It was extremely user and beginner friendly. I had no trouble adhering it to the book board and was rather impressed with the end result. I also learned that not all bookbinding cloth comes with the paper backing and I definitely wasn’t ready to attempt adding paper backing to book cloth so I definitely appreciate that it came with the paper backing. The size was perfect for making a small book as I had plenty of cloth to work with in case I messed up. The colors it comes with are beautiful and because they’re linen they almost have a texture to them which makes it more interesting to look at in my opinion. I didn’t try decorating this book cloth so I can’t comment if it’s good for that, but I will absolutely update my review after I give that a try. Overall, I’m glad I ordered this and would def recommend it to another beginner.

This set of 12, 14"x10" pieces of book cloth is a fantastic option for beginning to mid level binders and a great deal for some lovely colors. This means you won't have to buy a full yard of one color but will have 6 color choices. Each 14"x10" piece would cover a small to medium size book but you can always use a contrasting color (or the second sheet of the same color) for the spine on a larger book.The book cloth arrived quickly. The packaging was secure and the cloth was in good shape with no wrinkles. Highly recommend, especially if you're just getting started.
