The tool is fine, but I am giving a low rating because the package did NOT include the ferrule or the finisher bar, so that’s kind of annoying.

This has a small diameter carbide cutter that is very useful for tight corners and details. Handles and cuts well.

Very good quality if you look at these and you own a lathe and you want to take a few minutes to turn out a handle this is an excellent buy as you can see by the photo I couldn’t buy a nicer tool already manufactured and they do a really nice job on the bar and holder as well I will also buy some of their carbide inserts good company I will buy more of their stuff for sure I got my eye on their carbide wood carving bit set I have no doubt it’s quality will be top-notch.

These DIY carbide chisels are a great value and theres something to be said about making your own tools and tool handles. It creates an appreciation you didnt have before not to mention the sentimental value that comes with making your own tools and accessories. This tool was my first experience with a carbide tool - what an improvement over (mis-using) some spindle gouges I have. The carbide just effortlessly carves out the insides of bowls. Within an hour or so I was confident enough to ramp up the RPMs on my lathe almost at maximum. Turn a nice handle for it with a 12mm hole in one end, and you'll have a treasured gouge.

Can’t beat the price it was a great project making handles the workmen’s ship is pretty good on the tool and came with a cutter . Perfect for someone just starting or need a extra set of tools like my self
