Install this filter as an addition to filter in the transmission. I hooked it up on the return line on the transmission cooler. Little bit of extra insurance keeps the transmission clean. I use a Deral 14 quart oil pan and a MishiMoto transmission cooler.

I used one of these as an inline filter from my automatic transmission cooler. I just changed it to keep an eye on things. I cut it open, I love that there is a magnet inside in addition to the filter element to help catch debris. Seems like a quality filter.

I bought this filter to put on the return line from my transmission cooler. It's a 4R100 in a '99 F250 SD 4x4 with 3/8" lines and it attaches without any problems. Can't say enough good about it. I cut the thing open after running it for 1500 miles and found quite a bit of material inside, both on the magnet and the paper filter. The paper filter looks just like a small version of the old-school canister filters you'd find on tractors and the like, along with late model BMW engines. The magnet wraps around the outside of the cylindrical case.I installed this due to the fact that my remanufactured transmission seemed to have some particulate in the new torque converter and on the input shaft when I received it from shipping. As you can see from the pics, there was a lot of dirt in my "new" transmission after only 1500 miles, and this little filter probably saved it from getting destroyed right away. For good measure, I pulled off the cooler bypass fittings as well, and I found a large chunk of black paint stuck inside the return port. This was from when the hack who put my transmission together contaminated it with junk. So while I'm not hopeful that the transmission will last very long, I'm confident that this little filter does its job. I had a replacement sitting there that I swapped in place of the dirty one. I just ordered 3 more; one to replace this one, and one each for my other Fords that have integral filters that can't be serviced.

I received my filter today, and inside the Wix box was a Filtran filter. Now, this is my third Wix filter, and the others were branded Wix. I thought maybe someone switched the filter and returned in, but after a bit of google, it turns out Wix is now rebranded Filtran filters. Guess they forgot to peel off the label and attach a Wix one. The one star is not based on performance, as I do not know how this will perform (I will be returning), but instead is based on the fact that Filtran filters can be bought for around $11 at other big websites, and this Wix is listed at $18, for the exact same thing. They're using the brand to up-charge. Back to amazon it goes.

I put this in the return line from the cooler, Honda Odyssey. It fit the line perfectly, no leaks. (although cutting the line does result in fluid coming out, no surprise)

I am skeptical about there being a magnet inside the filter. For over 6 years I have been using Magnefine filters in my Subaru Legacy. If I hold another magnet against the Magnefine, I easily detect the repelling forces between the two. On this WIX filter... absolutely not... all I can feel is the attraction to the metal ends of the filter frame. If there were a magnet inside (as the WIX web site clearly states there is one) I would be able to detect it with another magnet. The filter I received looks exactly like the one pictures. Filter is stamped Made in the USA. Will be contacting WIX for an explanation.

Advertised as for Hondas, but is generic 3/8" filter suitable for many applications.I use on my 2002 Town and Country. I previously used an ATP filter, on which I prefer the manufacturing. However this unit seems to do the same job and was easy to install. These units in general help to limit the metallic sediment in my pan. I replace about every 30K miles.

These filters come in different sizes under different part numbers and I use them for filtering power steering units, cooling systems, and transmissions. There is a magnet inside to trap metal particles.
