Comparable in price to a big brand name (you know the one that starts with a "D"), but this set comes with a few extras: an additional humidifier pack, a soft pouch, and a hygrometer—which is a nice bonus.I’ve used the other brand for a while and really love it. It’s done a great job keeping my guitars stable during the dry winter months. Since it’s not winter at the time of writing, I can’t say for sure how this brand compares in drier conditions, but the included setup looks solid.The main pouch fits two humidifier packs and goes into the guitar body, and you can place an extra pack near the headstock. I plan to use the bonus pack in my ukulele case.These are very easy to use: open the packaging, place the plastic humidifier packs into the black sleeves, insert them into your instrument, and close the case. Simple and quick.My main concern is knowing when to replace the packs. The other brand uses gel-based packs that start soft and become crunchy or hard when they dry out—making it obvious when it's time to replace them. These new packs, however, start off hard, so it’s difficult to tell how much moisture they contain. They’re supposed to last 3–6 months, so you could replace them on a schedule—but you might be tossing out packs that are still good.A helpful workaround is to monitor the included hygrometer. If it stops holding steady around 49% humidity, it’s a good sign the packs need replacing. Personally, I still prefer the feel-based feedback of gel packs, but that’s just a personal preference.That said, the value you get here is solid. This is exactly what I was looking for when it comes to humidification remedy for my guitar. That's exactly like the name brand, and I expect it to work and last just as long.

Similarly priced to the most popular model of these acoustic guitar humidifiers (starts with a "D"....), on first examination this kit isn't quite of like quality. The hang bags feel and look much cheaper as far as fabric, fit and finish. Also, I'm partial to the double bag that hangs over the strings. That said, having one double bag and two singles will be allow me to me conduct a side-by-side comparison on which method is more effective come next winter. For about the same cost, I'd like to see a little bit better bag construction. The included hygrometer is the standard one you see sold in sets of 5, 10, 20 etc. Oddly enough, the humidity packs with this kit are for maintaining 49% humidity. When I opened the box, there sat the hygrometer, staring me in the face...........reading exactly 49%. I'm not sure how to take it, considering the humidity packs are still sealed in their thick, factory pouches. They hygrometer is a nice addition nonetheless. I'm comfortable giving this kit four stars. I'll try to remember to re-visit this review come next winter for an update on how well the packs maintain a steady humidity (my personal ideal is about 45%) as my acoustic guitars all stay out during the spring/summer/fall months until the heat eventually kicks on.

The humidification kit is packed efficiently in a retail box. The humidification packs are vacuum sealed in sturdy plastic bag. The instructions are in clear English, aside from the "Best before date: 1 year". Not sure what that means. Is it one year from manufacture, 1 year from purchase, one year from opening the vacuum sealed package. I've used the other brand name of this type of system. These packs look to be used in the same way. Of note, for the similar price, this kit comes with +1 pack compared to the competitors. The included digital hygrometer is a nice touch, however, it reads considerably lower ~-10% humidity than the other hygrometers I own (4 others are all within 3% of each other). The included cloth pouches are soft to the touch, and don't include any sharp or finish harming textures. These humidity packs are also sized appropriately to fit into the competitors cloth pouches too.
