My brother likes to play and has multiple guitars. He was tickled with this set. He has used everything in it except the string cleaner. He said that he wasn’t sure about that one. But loved everything else. He is VERY hard to please. So, for this to impress him is saying something.

You get a guitar body polish, lemon oil for the neck and string oil. Also, a cleaning cloth is included. I would suggest that you do not spray body polish directly on your guitar as shown in the photo. It is better to apply a small amount on the cleaning cloth and then clean guitar body with it. For lemon oil, you can apply it directly on the fretboard, wait for a bit for the wood to absorb it and then wipe off the excess. I did not try string oil. My strings need changing, and I may apply it to new strings just to try it. This is something I did not use in the past.

I bought this for my son’s birthday. He plays the guitar for a living and this was a perfect gift. I don’t play the guitar but my husband does. He says this is a great gift size and most all these would be very useful for a guitar player. The value is fabulous! The functionality and ease of using these products is as expected according to my husband. I am glad to be able to give a gift that I know my son will enjoy and use.

All the products seemed to be as advertised, the lemon oil and polish work well. But the application on the string oil was at the bottom of the bottle when I opened it. I’ll figure out another way to apply the string oil, but the easy applicator was part of the reason I bought this one.

I'm not a luthier or anything. I just play ! I've used piano cleaners to just plain Windex etc to keep my Guitars clean. A friend of mine who knows a thing or to about setting up guitars said get a dedicated guitar cleaner. Otherwise over time I'll damage the finish on my Guitars ( I don't have any expensive guitars, most expensive is a Fender P-Bass i got for around $600. So no $4k-5k Martins lol). Still we want to keep even our cheap guitars looking good so I got this. Just following the instructions, My Guitars still look brand new (Is that a good thing ? Thinking of Stings worn-out looking Bass lol). Good product. Thanks Amazon

I picked this up for using on my guitar fret boards and it works great. I'm usually a bit skeptical to go outside the brands I usually trust and use, but after reading the ingredients and checking a few reviews, I gave it a go.PSA to make sure the Lemon oil will work for your fret board wood, which should not be used on Maple fret boards. I tested this out on a couple particularly dry Rosewood and Pau Ferro fret boards and I can tell they needed it. This is a great way to richen up the color of your neck if keeping on display in a particularly dry area (like winter in the NE).I'm planning on getting a couple of these as holiday gifts for fellow guitar enthusiasts. Recommended! But do a bit of research.

I really like this set and the oversized polishing cloth is a nice bonus. As soon as I got this, I put it to the test. I don’t play guitar very much anymore but have several that I keep on display all the time. My display guitars do get played occasionally and since they are not stored in cases they are affected by environmental elements. I can say that the cleaner worked very well on the high gloss finish on my bass guitar. Since not all guitars have similar finishes, I would recommend you try it on a small section first. I would be careful using a polish on a satin finish guitar and some manufacturers do not recommend using polish on a satin finish because the polish will get absorbed into the wood and leave the finish looking blotchy and uneven. The lemon oil is primarily used on the neck to clean around the frets. Lemon oil works well with walnut and rosewood but it doesn’t work so well on maple. Lemon oil also lubricates the wood and keeps it from drying out. In order to apply lemon oil to the neck you need to remove the strings. Check with your guitar manufacturer to see if they recommend lemon oil.I do use string oil now and then. I apply it to my display guitars to keep the strings from tarnishing. The only other application that I have used string oil is to control or eliminate string noise that is created by moving your fingers across the frets when recording a guitar. You only use string oil on steel strings never on nylon strings. If your using coated strings then string oil really has no benefit. It is still relevant in some situations.

I have owned several quality guitars in the past. I have only two now, a Yamaha classical and a 50-year old Guild D-40 steel string. We used violin oil for years to keep them looking good but this little three-bottle kit is a much better arrangement. The lemon oil will clean and remove finger prints and smudges which are bound to occur especially with the classical guitar being nuzzled up to your upper arm! The Polish then produces a very nice sheen without a glaring reflection on the spruce tops. Now, as to the string oil...here's a caveat! When you uncap the bottle you'll see a foil seal. Don't remove it! Cut or punch a small hole in the edge of the foil. This will force you to use the oil SPARINGLY on your strings. It may go without saying that the unwound nylon strings on a classical guitar require only a light wipe-down, no oil, but the wound strings (typically #s 6, 5 and 4) and all the steel strings, can use a light touch of oil once in a while. It will ease your fingering and keep the strings lively... but not too much! The price might be a little high but will probably be worth it to keep your guitars looking good and playing well without the use of common furniture polish! If the labels had adequately warned about minimum usage and if the price dropped a couple of bucks, this would be a five-star review!
