I installed this rear tailgate lock actuator on my 2006 Toyota 4Runner, and it fit perfectly without any modifications. The wiring matched up, and after reconnecting the battery, the lock worked like it did from the factory. The tailgate now opens and locks smoothly again.Build quality seems solid, though I’ll be keeping an eye on how it holds up over time. So far, after a few weeks of daily use, there’s been no sticking, clicking, or other signs of early failure.Value-wise, it’s definitely worth it. A lot cheaper than going through the dealership, and the installation was simple enough for a DIY afternoon job. It restored full functionality to the liftgate without breaking the bank.
