Looked different, but has been in my vehicle for awhile now. Seems to work just fine for 2011 honda pilot

This is an upgrade over the OEM Honda. I have put 60k miles on it so far and not one issue with temps rising. This was the best deal vs the big parts store. It’s built better than the OEM and has a direct fittment.

This thermostat fit my wife's 2003 Honda Pilot perfectly. Hope it never overheats, but the failsafe mechanism should hopefully help prevent that from being as big of an issue.

Just installed on my 2005 Honda Accord V6 EX and I can say I’m impressed with the build quality. Much stronger and beefier than the OEM thermostat. The best part is their warranty and the fail safe feature. In the event your thermostat does fail it will always fail in the open position and more than likely you’ll get a replacement for free.

Update: 6/25/17Thermostat FAILED! Worked for a couple of weeks and then, BAM! In 115 degree weather, my van started running hot. Didn't give it a chance to overheat as we switched off the A/C. Had to drive without A/C for 300+ miles. Not happy as we now have to buy OEM as we don't trust aftermarket like___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Reason for the three stars is not because it is a bad product. Just installed it, so won't know for sure if it's going to be ok.Have issue with the way item is sold. A seal is needed for the installation, but is not included with item. It will make more sense for cost to be a little higher and include the seal than to sell the seal separately. It is also not mentioned in the Ad that a seal/gasket is needed.

Installed this a few day's ago. It seems to work fine. Hopefully I never need to test the failsafe mode.

I chose to buy this failsafe thermostat because in my experience as a vehicle owner and a mechanic, the failsafe mechanism can mean the difference between saving your engine and total complete failure. If a thermostat fails to open, the heat builds up pressure. Many car manufacturers use the cheapest parts they can unless the vehicle is high end. When pressure builds up due to heat in a cooling system, that pressure has to go somewhere. With older cars and high mileage engines, that pressure will sometimes relieve itself through the head gasket, IF the original equipment thermostat is stuck closed and the radiator pressure cap fails to relieve pressure above it's set limit. Gaskets get old, and when the environmental conditions at the mating surface between the head and the block are under constant heat load from the engine burning fuel, and coolant passing through the system, this often creates a weak point. In my experience a failsafe thermostat sticks in the open position when, thus allowing your car to keep it's cool, and save you from blowing a head gasket or another component in the engine. Think of it as cheap insurance! Highly recommended.
