Other people have said they had to cut the tab off of the dust collector to make it work, but I did not find that to be the case. On my 5007MG, the whole thing slotted right into place. and if there was a hole at the bottom of the fixed blade guard, I would have only needed 1 bolt. Instead, i drilled a hole through the fixed blade guard and the little tab on the attachment piece (2nd photo). then, on the bottom, i modified a washer and kind of just wedged it in place (3rd photo). the last thing i had to do was cut part of the handle off of the movable blade guard, or it wouldn't slide past the new port attachment (2nd photo and 4th photo). i've used it a couple of times now with just a shop vac and it's a fantastic difference. wish i would have known about this a long time ago.

Worked great on the 5007MG with some modifications to the saw. I used a multi-tool to add a small notch to the saw and to also 'shave' away some material inside. The lever on the blade guard needed to be shortened by about an inch. Used a self-drilling/tapping screw to make the hole and secure it, hooked up the vacuum and went to work. I also plugged the saw into a variac and turned it down to about 85% and the dust cloud completely disappeared.

Great dust adaptor for the Makita 5007Mg. Fits, no mods, but there are tricks to getting it to stay on. Some use tape, I used zipties. I did have to buy the hose and connector but once on, it works great and collects so much dust (90%). A little still gets out but it makes a huge difference on cleanup.

I have a Makita saw, but I had to cut a notch in the guard to make it fit, but it works.

The certified fit for the 5007mg should be removed, I would expect it to fit without any tinkering. You can see from the pictures I had to make a tab to branch from the original hole to where the adapter lines up, only reason this isn't lower is because its actually ABS plastic

Like other reviewers mention this part can fit on the Makita 5007MG circular saw after carefully cutting off the tab that slides inside the dust hole. Once it's cut off I used a 3/16 drill bit to widen the screw hole to the right enough so the whole part will fit flush against the metal. I mixed some JB Weld plastic bonder glue and spread it on the inside of the part and glued it in place and tightened the M5-0.8 x 16mm screw. I haven't cut with the saw dust part attached yet, but so I'm pretty happy with how it fit and think it will work well.

Going on memory on the model number. I think this was sold to fit a mg008 (the 08 part is right, not sure about the letters). Anyway, others said if fits the 007 so I bought it and yes, once you saw off that tab you see sticking up, it covers the dust port as needed. Doesn't come with a screw so I found one in my parts bin that worked, couldn't tell you the size.

I took a shot, not knowing if this would work with the 5007MG, but its mostly compatible. It stops the blade guard from going all the way back, but its like 90% back. You do have to cut off a small tab from the nozzle and it will only have a single screw point, but it still fastens on pretty well and manages to collect most of the dust produced. I found a screw that fits in the spare parts bin, so I couldn't tell you what size it was, but if you have a 5007MG you can even leave the dust port on when it goes back in the case.
