I have a boston terrier with maybe a larger than standard size head.instead of a small, i maybe should have gotten a medium.i'll probably sew on some extra fabric/velcro to extend it.Otherwise the ear muff specifically do fit over his ears just fine, the elastic in between each ear muff means it's a universal fit.the item is well made, quality stitching and decent stretchy material. It's difficult to test effectiveness because it will always be circumstantial on the noise/situation, however i will definitely be using these ear muffs ALONG with calming treats during fireworks, etc. lets hope he doesn't try to take them off, you just never know.

I gave this three stars because it seemed to be comfortable for my dog. However, I didn't notice that it helped with noise at all. It was easy to put on because it just fastens at the chin with Velcro. The size I ordered bunched a little at the top and didn't fit perfectly on his ears. I'm not sure if it was because of user error or product manufacturing. The material is nice and soft and it is well made but it seems too thin to help with noise. I'm going to try this a few more times and if I have any luck I will update this review.

This fit perfectly on my Norfolk Terrier. I used the size chart and it is correct size. I was concerned it might make him feel like he was constricted around his neck but he did not have that reaction. I got this for the 4th of July holiday since my dog is terrified of fireworks. I can't speak to the effectiveness of the sound barrier because it's before the holiday. I will say that it looks comfortable and the material of the hoody is very soft and I like the elastic on the top which helps with comfort and a snug fit. I did expect a heavier padding over the ear area. I will update this review after the holiday fireworks.

I got this to try on my dog who freaks out over storms and fireworks. In the past I tried wrapping a towel or shirt around his head to cover his ears BUT it always came loose and fell off. I thought these were perfect because they have the velcro closure and they're like little earmuffs for your dog! They didn't seem to bother him...he wasn't trying to paw at them to get it off his head at least! I like that these have the extra padding around the ears so it muffles the noise! Overall they seem to do the job! Definitely recommend :)

These work fine as a temporary aid with dogs that have ear hematomas or open wounds. I frequently foster and train dogs that come to me with wounded ears which bleed profusely, and these help hold topical antibiotics and gauze in place while preventing the dog from shaking his ears and reopening the wounds when they shake their head or scratch at them.Of course, these will usually come right off as soon as the dog is no longer supervised; the velcro is pretty weak, and this design has a tendency to put extra pressure on the throat for increased discomfort. As for behavior modification and desensitization to loud stimuli, these have never reliably worked for me in my years as a behaviorist. The muffling it provides is minimal, and by using these you may actually increase the dog's general anxiety in the scenario. It does help with grooming for some dogs, however, since it prevents blow driers from directly disrupting their ears.
