this should have been just a little bigger and maybe make it a few more dollars, feels a little unstable when I have to use to taller position, so I don't. Kind of feel a little misled.

When working on your guitars it is important to support the neck. You don't want to put pressure on the headstock... especially if you have a guitar with a weaker headstock design, like a Gibson. I use a neck rest when changing strings, working on pickups, oiling the fretboard, leveling and polishing frets, etc. This neck rest is pretty small, but has decent padding. It can be used in 2 different heights. So, whether you are working on an acoustic or an electric, it should be tall enough.
