Your cart is empty.Gilson Universal Splitters are the most versatile sample dividers available for true representative specimens when reducing samples. Each splitter features our exclusive, adjustable chute system and proprietary lever-release hopper. The lever-release hopper exclusive feature assures top accuracy when reducing bulk materials. These features result in the most accurate and precise sample reduction. Each of these agile workhorses takes the place of two or more conventional splitters with just a few quick adjustments. Selecting the optimum chute width for each material yields, accurate representative sample splits without bridging. The lever-release hoppers allow level placement of the bulk sample for even, consistent flow over the chutes as the gate is opened. Universal Splitter chutes are formed by a series of precision-machined aluminum bars pivoting on a rod through their lower ends to direct equal amounts of material to each side into sample collection pans. The operator arranges the precision-ground bars equally on alternate sides, creating V-shaped chutes of the desired width. Once set, the bars are drawn together by tightening wing nuts on the threaded ends of the rod. The lever-release hopper can be opened, and the material is evenly distributed to two pans on each side. All splitters include a set of two pans or four pans for the SP-0 model. The SP-0 and SP-1 models allow representative splitting of sample volumes and particle sizes not available anywhere else. SP-2 Universal Splitter is compact and more durable than conventional portable splitters and provides accurate and representative samples for a wide range of materials. These lightweight models have an ample 0.55ft³ (15.8L) hopper capacity for materials up to 1.5in (38mm) and are convenient for floor or benchtop positions. Chutes have 45° chute angles better suited to mineral aggregates. Order additional pans as SPA-101 with a capacity of 14qt (13L).
