I like to keep my generator battery plugged in to a trickle charger to ensure easy electronic startup when the generator is needed. This has been complicated by the wire leads from the battery to the rest of the generator being very short with little room to disconnect. This solves the problem: I simply put the Y-splitter in line and now can simply cap/uncap one end to plug in my trickle charger. 10 gauge wire matches what the generator already used.
